Once you've received your beautiful gallery from JENNAKPHOTOS...

you’ll want to ensure these precious memories are preserved for years to come. Here’s what you need to know to properly store your digital images and prints:

Download your Gallery immediately

Download all of your final images as soon as possible after you receive your gallery. Remember, per your contract, photos are stored via my website for a minimum of 30 days. After that period, I cannot guarantee they will be available, so it’s important to complete this step ASAP.

Digitally preserving your gallery:

To avoid losing these irreplaceable memories, always have a backup! Here are some reliable methods for storing digital images:

  • Google Drive or Google Photos: both are convenient and accessible, but note that Google Photos may compress large files
  • Dropbox: Offers excellent storage solutions without compressing your images
  • External Hard Drives: These provide a physical backup and can store large amounts of data
  • USB Drives: Compact and portable, ideal for keeping an extra copy available

To further ensure your digital images are safe:

  • Regularly update backups: Make sure to periodically update your backups, especially after important events or photo shoots
  • Use multiple locations: Store your backups in different physical locations (e.g., one at home and one at work) to protect against theft, fire, or other disasters

Storing your prints:

When it comes to physical prints, proper storage is key to preserving their quality over time:

  • Store photos away from sunlight or direct lighting to prevent fading.
  • Keep them in a stable, moderate temperature to avoid damage from heat or cold.
  • Use protective photo sleeves made from acid-free materials to safeguard prints from dust and fingerprints.
  • If framing, choose UV-protected glass and acid-free materials to prevent degradation.
  • Ensure photos are stored flat to avoid warping or bending.
  • Clearly label your photos to keep them organized and easily accessible.

Your memories are worth the effort!

Taking a few simple steps now can make all the difference in preserving your cherished memories for future generations.
